Fifth Day-Mata Skandamata-

Meaning: When Shakti Parvati Maa became the mother of Lord Skanda (known as Lord Kartikeya,Murugan),Thats why Mata Parvati is known as Shakti Skandamata. She sits on lotus flower thats why She is also known as Mata Padmasana.
Navratri: In Navratri,She is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri.
Representation: Her ride is lion.She carries baby Skanda in her lap.She is depicted with four hands.She carries lotus flower in her upper two hands. She holds baby Skanda in one of her right hand and keeps the other right hand in Abhaya Mudra.
